- Track and record daily N2 and He boil-off.
- Regular lineshape tests to check shims.
- PFG amplifier offset correction. (every 6 months)
- Shim calibrations (monthly, or probe change)
- PW90 checks (“regularly” to annually)
- S/N test (every 6 months, or probe change)
- VT calibration (as needed/six months/annual)
- Chemical shift calibration at different temperatures (six months)
- Sensitivity test (six months)
- Pulse width calibration (proton, carbon, other nuclei as needed)
- Drift test (six months)
- Check the profile during gradient shimming. Remove probe and clean if needed.
- Clean console air filter. (Annually or as needed according to the lab environment)
- Check for noisy or malfunction fans and replace. (3-6 years or if they fail.
- Test UPS battery (annual)
- Replace UPS batteries more or less every 5 years. Some batteries can last longer.
- Update software as needed. Discuss this with a Jeol Engineer.
- Check lab facility air supply dryers and replace filters (3 years). Dewpoint should be at least -20C.
- If the instrument is showing a chronic problem, contact a service engineer to look at it.
- Remove old data stored files from the console computer in the Remote Maintenance Tool.
